Hunchback
Kyphosis denotes an atypical curvature of the spine leading to the protrusion of the upper back (thoracic region), resulting in a distinct curve resembling a camel's back, hence the term "hunchback." This condition causes the upper body to seem inclined forward, with the shoulders drooping forward.
Numerous factors contribute to hunchback issues. Here are some prevalent causes:
- Poor Posture
- Congenital malformations involve abnormal spinal development at birth.
- Prolonged poor sitting posture
Degradation of the Hunchback can result in a cascade of severe repercussions:
- Chronic back pain is often exacerbated as kyphosis progresses, causing an increase in the curvature of the back and potentially resulting in enduring back or low back pain.
- Severe kyphosis can compress the chest cavity, limiting lung expansion and leading to breathing difficulties, chest tightness, or fatigue.
